In typical bluegrass gospel, the first thing that springs to mind are the soulful harmonies, which accentuate the skilled string instrumentals, each lifting one's spirits up to the clouds. It is quite apparent Darin Aldridge and Brooke Justice had this same vision in mind here. With a mixture of classics, such as Wayfaring Stranger and four songs written or co-written by Aldridge and Justice, this duo does a great job. Their tight harmonies are filled with the passion necessary to drive a gospel song home. Aldridge, a founding member of The Circuit Readers and seven years in Charlie Waller's band, recalls Vince Gill with a soft tenor voice. His adept guitar and mandolin add a great deal. Justice has a lovely powerful voice, equally impressive in lead or harmony. The pairing of these two young musicians, teamed with Eddie Biggerstaff on acoustic bass and Chris Bryant on banjo, has provided a touching timeless record. Their elegant talents are a testament to what bluegrass gospel music aspires to be.
