American Media Group and The Broadcast Group, have announced that Bluegrass Road , a weekly television show will soon make it’s national network debut in May 2012 on Blue Highways TV and several independent networks across America .

The show will be a talent-laden Bluegrass music program never before offered to television networks before and will be reaching millions of viewers across America and the world. Filmed in HD format, Bluegrass Road will feature Darin & Brooke Aldridge as special hosts for the first three shows .  Bluegrass Road will highlight many legendary performers in the industry, as well as giving many unknown talented artists all across America a greater opportunity for a national and international stage on television.  

Darin and Brooke will also be appearing as a regular guest on Great American Gospel, an award-winning show featuring legendary and major artists in Gospel music.  The “2010 Gospel Music Television Program of the Year” is reaching millions of viewers in America and in over 200 countries abroad.  The new season will begin May 19, 2012 at 5:00 PM EST on the Daystar Network. 

Darin and Brooke will also be appearing in 2012 and 2013 at the upcoming Bluegrass Road Music Festivals and the Great American Gospel Music Festival, which is to debut in Nashville, Tennessee next year.

We have released a live concert DVD, featuring 14 tracks filmed on the set of The Bluegrass Road,

It’s entitled Favorites From The Bluegrass Road, and features The Sweethearts along with their touring band. Chris Bryant is on banjo, Rachel Johnson Boyd on fiddle, Dwayne Anderson on bass, and Collin Willis on guitar and reso-guitar. Darin is on mandolin and guitar, and Brooke on mandolin for a few songs as well.

Mark your calendar now for April 13th and 14th.   You don’t want to miss any of the fun at the annual Darin and Brooke Aldridge Music Festival, which will be held at the Coot Williams Road Music Park outside of Cherryville, NC.    Great music, good food and nice people make the festival one of the best small music events in North Carolina.  There will be plenty of room for you, your family and friends under the big tent.  Just bring your own chairs and settle in for a great time.  It’s a wonderful opportunity to hear the best in acoustic music and meet the musicians in person afterwards.   Friday night headliners will be the top group in bluegrass, The Grascals.    Rumor has it that on Saturday the Harris Brothers and Darin Aldridge may once again share the stage.   People are still talking about the last two times this “trio” blended their talents to create music that hadn’t been heard around here before.   Check out the festival’s full line-up below.

It was certainly a busy week for us but it sure was fun.  I especially enjoyed getting to stand up there and say: “And the Winner is…”.  We hope to get to do it again next year.  As much as we would have loved to win one of the awards this year we want all of the fans to know how much we appreciate them making it possible for us to have such a large role in the show.   Bluegrass fans are the best fans in the world and those that we get to spend time with as we crisscross the country are a lot like family to Brooke and I.   Our bluegrass family and our faith mean everything to us and we are so very grateful for everything.
As busy as the past week was the coming weeks are just as hectic, including shows in Florida and Massachusetts the same weekend!  We’ll also be in the Chicago area this month.
We have spent a lot of time in January and February on an exciting new endeavor.   We have agreed   to host a national TV show for broadcast later in the year.  We have complete two days of taping and will do a third taping Friday February 10th.   The show is called Bluegrass Road and will air weekly featuring some of the hottest bands on the bluegrass circuit.  The show’s producers have more than three decades in the business and are the creators of the Great American Gospel series.   The show will be of the highest quality.   Coming up next we start filming a music video for one of our new songs.  We are really excited to have landed a top producer to head up the project and we just love her ideas for the “Wildflower” video.
Along with our regular performance schedule we are getting ready for the 2012 edition of the Darin and Brooke Aldridge Music Festival in Cherryville, NC April 13 & 14.   Again this year the festival will feature special guests The Grascals who were multiple award winners in Nashville last week.   2012 is definitely looking like another great year for us and we thank all of you for making it possible.

The album So Much In Between is nominated for Album of the year. Also we are up for Gospel Group of the Year and Vocal group of the year.I am nominated for guitar player and Brooke is nominated for contemporary Female Vocalist.

The convention and awards show will be held  at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee Feb 2nd-5th

Thursday we will be performing a special all gospel set there at the SPBGMA convention ,for Friday we are working on something now that could be very special for us.  Saturday we also will perform a mix of songs from our latest album.On Sunday evening we will  be performing on the awards show and hopefully bringing something home with us :)

Darin and I had several resolutions and goals we’d like to achieve in the new year. Our goal in 2012 is that we will continue to grow in our faith and remember to listen to God’s will and direction for our lives.J We also hope that 2012 will bring us an even broader musical journey as we continue to develop and grow as a band. Of course we can’t forget that resolution to try and eat healthier and exercise more which isn’t always easy being on the road, but at least we can shoot for it. Campus’ Memorial Theater for IHN Songfest. It was a great experience to finally be able to perform near old friends and colleagues!

The performance and seminar on Friday went exceptionally well! Plenty of students and faculty of the ETSU Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country Music program were in attendance and eager to listen and learn. We had a great time discussing life on the road as well as the “behind the scenes” aspects of the bluegrass life with all those who were in attendance, and many great questions were asked. It’s always great to help out eager, upcoming musicians whenever possible!

We had a great turnout for the Down Home Saturday night as well. We all really appreciate Mr. Ed Snodderly inviting us to play there, and had a great time! We hope to be back there again very soon to play for all the nice folks who came out to cheer us on!

We wrapped up this fantastic weekend by performing at the Memorial Theater on ETSU’s V.A. Campus for IHN Songfest. We were honored and privileged to be asked to perform alongside such great talent as Ed Snodderly and the ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band! All the bands that performed at Songfest did an excellent job. It was such a pleasure getting to catch up with old friends from the Pride Band and being able to listen to all them play again.

Johnson City, Tennessee is filled with nice, hospitable folks who love bluegrass music and want to treat you like family. We would especially like to thank Mr. George Bottcher for inviting us to Songfest and Mr. Roy Andrade for helping us be able to share our knowledge and experiences with the folks at ETSU. We hope to make another trip down this way real soon!

This weekend we will be doing a Christmas Show for our good friends at WGWG radio The Leatherwoods.So if you live close to Cleveland county NC come on by Falston Sat night for a Christmas evening with us.
