The album So Much In Between is nominated for Album of the year. Also we are up for Gospel Group of the Year and Vocal group of the year.I am nominated for guitar player and Brooke is nominated for contemporary Female Vocalist.

The convention and awards show will be held  at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee Feb 2nd-5th

We will be kicking off the week on Wed Feb 1st at the Lovelace cafe for a show on Music City Roots http://musiccityroots.com/

Thursday we will be performing a special all gospel set there at the SPBGMA convention ,for Friday we are working on something now that could be very special for us.  Saturday we also will perform a mix of songs from our latest album.On Sunday evening we will  be performing on the awards show and hopefully bringing something home with us :)

Brooke and I along with the band, would like to invite you all that can come out and be with us for a great weekend in Nashville.

Darin and I wanted to tell everyone we hope that each of you had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year celebration. I know Darin, I and the band had a wonderful time catching up with family and friends….much needed time I must say too!!! Darin and I were just talking the other day and decided we’d get ya’ll involved on this blog. We would like to hear from you about some of your New Year’s Resolutions for 2012. Darin and I had several resolutions and goals we’d like to achieve in the new year. Our goal in 2012 is that we will continue to grow in our faith and remember to listen to God’s will and direction for our lives.J We also hope that 2012 will bring us an even broader musical journey as we continue to develop and grow as a band. Of course we can’t forget that resolution to try and eat healthier and exercise more which isn’t always easy being on the road, but at least we can shoot for it. Now it’s your turn….we want to hear some from you!

Campus’ Memorial Theater for IHN Songfest. It was a great experience to finally be able to perform near old friends and colleagues!

The performance and seminar on Friday went exceptionally well! Plenty of students and faculty of the ETSU Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country Music program were in attendance and eager to listen and learn. We had a great time discussing life on the road as well as the “behind the scenes” aspects of the bluegrass life with all those who were in attendance, and many great questions were asked. It’s always great to help out eager, upcoming musicians whenever possible!

We had a great turnout for the Down Home Saturday night as well. We all really appreciate Mr. Ed Snodderly inviting us to play there, and had a great time! We hope to be back there again very soon to play for all the nice folks who came out to cheer us on!

We wrapped up this fantastic weekend by performing at the Memorial Theater on ETSU’s V.A. Campus for IHN Songfest. We were honored and privileged to be asked to perform alongside such great talent as Ed Snodderly and the ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band! All the bands that performed at Songfest did an excellent job. It was such a pleasure getting to catch up with old friends from the Pride Band and being able to listen to all them play again.

Johnson City, Tennessee is filled with nice, hospitable folks who love bluegrass music and want to treat you like family. We would especially like to thank Mr. George Bottcher for inviting us to Songfest and Mr. Roy Andrade for helping us be able to share our knowledge and experiences with the folks at ETSU. We hope to make another trip down this way real soon!

This weekend we will be doing a Christmas Show for our good friends at WGWG radio The Leatherwoods.So if you live close to Cleveland county NC come on by Falston Sat night for a Christmas evening with us.

DJs are playing several songs from the new project. So much so, that the CD is currently tied for the #6 spot on Sirius XM’s Most Played Albums chart, #7 on the Top 66 Bluegrass chart and #13 Bluegrass Today chart. “Lonely Ends Where Love Begins” is tied for #3 on Sirius XM’s Most Played Tracks chart and “Every Scar” is #8 on Singing News Magazine’s chart. Thanks to each of you for making your requests and a special thanks to all the DJs for playing the new CD!

We had an amazing time at IBMA’s World of Bluegrass this year!  We set up a booth, sponsored by Sundrop©, and had a lot of visitors stop by to pick up free merchandise and purchase a CD or two. Here’s a few photos from our week’s adventures. Joined by newly signed affiliate Mary Francis, SESAC executives Tim Fink and Amy Beth Hale celebrated the release of So Much In Between by Mountain Home recording artists, Darin & Brooke Aldridge during the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Conference.  The project was produced by acclaimed SESAC songwriter/musician Jerry Salley and features songs by some of Nashville’s most exciting writers including SESAC affiliates, Salley, Francis, singer/songwriter Karyn Williams, and Bernie Nelson.

The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) announces the finalists for the 2011 International Bluegrass Music Awards and Darin and Brooke Aldridge, from Cherryville, NC, are finalists for the Emerging Artist of the Year Award. The award is given to a “group or individual which has made considerable advances artistically (on) the national bluegrass scene”. Voting for the awards is restricted to the professional members of IBMA through a multi-round, four month balloting process.

The final ballot, which will be mailed to voters this week, lists five nominees for each award category. The winners will announced September 30th at the IBMA Music Awards Show at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The awards show is held each year in conjunction with the World Of Bluegrass international convention.

Darin and Brooke and their band have been invited to play at the IBMA FanFest music spectacular which begins the day after the awards show. This will mark the second year Darin and Brooke have played FanFest.
