Holiday Concert at the Joy
Darin and Brooke Aldridge are bringing their full show band to the Joy Performance Center November 10, 2012 for a special Holiday Concert. Tickets are $15 and the show starts at 8:00 pm. This will be a sell out so get tickets early!!! http://darinandbrookealdridge.com/shop/category/tickets/
The band will use the concert to debut their first live album prior to its official release. It was recorded at the Red, White and Bluegrass Festival in Morganton, NC this past July. The album is a blend of the songs that earned them acclaim as the “Sweethearts of Bluegrass” and the classic country songs that have become so popular at their live performances. Both of their recent albums reached number two on the charts and the same type of success is predicted for the new project.
This is the third year for the Holiday Concert at the Joy. The Joy is like home to the band and it’s always good to come home after being on the road almost every week. Darin and Brooke are doing about 100 shows a year all over the USA and Canada but the Holiday show is something we look forward to all year. We all also celebrate Brooke’s Birthday at the show so expect a few suprises.Fans attending the show can expect a mix of songs from the new album, some brand new songs ,classic country and some favorite Christmas standards.

Absolutely wonderful concert at the Joy Theater last Saturday. I’ve listened to and played bluegrass for years but I usually buy albums instead of attending concerts or festivals. You have changed me – it is such a joy to see and hear you in person. I hope to see you at Bluegrass First Class in Asheville.
I just received my DJ copy of the “Live at R, W and Bgrass” project, and I noticed that Mountain Home (Mickey Gamble) did not include a info sheet with it. Nor did the short notes in the CD booklet have anything to say about the band playing with you. Obviously, this website has no names either.
I find this odd, in the extreme. Did you fire them all after the concert? Did they quit in a huff over not be paid enough? Does giving them credit somehow diminish your star power? I believe these conjectures to be without merit, but the lack of ANY ID for your accompanists does raise MY eyebrows.
Not having listened to the CD yet, I don’t know if the band gets credit verbally or not. Probably – but if not, further strange thoughts will pop into my head, I’m sure.
I particularly want to know who the cute “midget” fiddler is.
Oh this is so good! We send you a free CD and then you jump on here and trash everything without even taking the time to verify if your rant is even true: obviously you either (1) love shooting from the hip or (2) are visually challenged. The band photo with names DOES appear on the CD tray card AND full bios with photos also DO appear in the “about” tab on this website. I would also just add the your term “midget” is thoughtless, mindless, and thoroughly insulting.
On behalf of Mountain Home, I do hereby apologize to Darin and Brooke, their band, and all the good folks at Red, White, and Bluegrass for ever having sent you the CD in the first place.
I highly doubt that this “leigh Hill” person is even a DJ..I’ve never heard a DJ talk so rude and uneducated about something like this on a open public website for people to see before… what radio station are you from??? I would love to know and the station manager would also love to know I’m sure you are representing them in this fashion etc…
Oops! Now that I’ve pulled the CD from the tray, I see the “hidden” info. Not a very convenient spot, still. Sorry about the rant.
