Merlefest and Ride for the kids weekend
The last weekend of April promises to be just as busy for Darin and Brooke and the band as the rest of the month has been. Saturday brings WBT radio personality Keith Larson’s “Ride for the Kids” charity event in Waxhaw, NC. It is always satisfying and enjoyable working with Keith to raise money to help children. http://www.wbt.com/keithsride/index.aspx

On Sunday the “Sweethearts” perform twice at Merle Fest; once on the Creekside Stage and again on the Tradtional Stage. The line-up of talent at Merle Fest is much too long to list here but Darin and Brooke are especially looking forward to spending time with music friends Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Marty Sturat, David Holt and -of course- the beloved Doc Watson. www.merlefest.org

We are also happy to announce that four-time Grammy winner David Holt will be appearing with Darin and Brooke on July 6th at the Joy Theater in Kings Mountain. This will be a truly unique and entertaining show. Only 250 tickets will be available so order yours early when the go on sale.
Also check the store for the new DVD ” Songs From The Bluegrass Road.” Here’s a link.

Hello Darin and Brooke,
I must say I continue to go directly to your music when I open my music app. I can’t stop listening to your latest work especially. I truly appreciate your music and ask you to continue the style and message, as I believe it speaks to many, and truly then is when music is good. I had the pleasure of meeting you fine folks in Gettysburg Pennsylvania last year at the festival, and I eagerly anticipate being there specifically on the day you will be there in August. My question to you is this. I am a young fellow, 21, and I love to play the instruments and sing, but especially to write. As I experience the feelings toward a young lady I can relate well to your music. I have several songs I have written that I would ask you to hear with consideration. When I write songs, sometimes I have a particular group in mind so that I can write the song specifically to fit their taste of music. I realized recently that I have a few seem to fit well with you two, and I truly would be honored if you simply gave them a listen, and if you don’t like them that is fine. I understand if you simply feel they wouldn’t fit you at this time.
Great Job at Merlefest today! Thanks for playing today! Jammed to the new CD on all the way home! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Enjoyed having you folks close out the Traditional Stage this year. Great set.
I enjoyed your shows at Merlesfest. We listened to your first show on the radio from our campground and then saw you live on the traditional stage. Great shows both times! Right now I’m listening to your track by track on XM Bluegrass Junction.
It was our first but not last time at Merlesfest and your show was one of our highlights. Keep up the testimony and the good work, I hope to hear even more gospel from you in the future.
