The Award Show to TV Shows and then a Video
Brooke and I were very busy participants in the 38th Annual Bluegrass Awards Show produced by the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music. We were very honored to be finalists in five awards categories and to serve as Presenters at the 2012 show held February 5th in Nashville. For the second year in a row our band was chosen to open the awards presentations. We performed five songs during the show. In the days before the show we performed twice for the annual national bluegrass convention and joined an all-star lineup on the internationally broadcast Music City Roots program.
It was certainly a busy week for us but it sure was fun. I especially enjoyed getting to stand up there and say: “And the Winner is…”. We hope to get to do it again next year. As much as we would have loved to win one of the awards this year we want all of the fans to know how much we appreciate them making it possible for us to have such a large role in the show. Bluegrass fans are the best fans in the world and those that we get to spend time with as we crisscross the country are a lot like family to Brooke and I. Our bluegrass family and our faith mean everything to us and we are so very grateful for everything.
As busy as the past week was the coming weeks are just as hectic, including shows in Florida and Massachusetts the same weekend! We’ll also be in the Chicago area this month.
We have spent a lot of time in January and February on an exciting new endeavor. We have agreed to host a national TV show for broadcast later in the year. We have complete two days of taping and will do a third taping Friday February 10th. The show is called Bluegrass Road and will air weekly featuring some of the hottest bands on the bluegrass circuit. The show’s producers have more than three decades in the business and are the creators of the Great American Gospel series. The show will be of the highest quality. Coming up next we start filming a music video for one of our new songs. We are really excited to have landed a top producer to head up the project and we just love her ideas for the “Wildflower” video.
Along with our regular performance schedule we are getting ready for the 2012 edition of the Darin and Brooke Aldridge Music Festival in Cherryville, NC April 13 & 14. Again this year the festival will feature special guests The Grascals who were multiple award winners in Nashville last week. 2012 is definitely looking like another great year for us and we thank all of you for making it possible.

Good going, keep it up. Looking forward to seeing you’ll again in Palatka next week.
You guys are the best. Love your music. You are all friendly, and sincere off the stage, and the band has great respect and administration for each other. Brooke and Rachel are as close as sisters. Thats what makes a great band and a great rich sound. Thanks for being my friend. Hope to see ya on the festival trail. Give us updates on the TV program so we can watch.
Clifton

This message is to both Darin and Brooke, I have been searching for a long time now for the soundtrack for a couple of your songs, I sing Southern Gospel music, not for money but for God and you guys do 2 songs that really speak to me, if you could help a fellow Christian out I would greatly appreciate it, or point me in the right direction..the songs are The Last thing on His Mind and Every Scar..I would really appreciate any help you could provide a lady at my Church asked me if I had emailed you and I told her no but it sounded like a great idea…
God Bless your group and what you do for God..

Darin & Brooke (& band): Saw you guys (for the first time!) at the Joe Val Festival in Massachusetts this weekend. I sat in on your “Duet Singing” workshop and was blown away. I’m the guy from the back of the room that asked if you’ve ever done “Pathway of Teardrops”. If you can ever find the old original Osborne Bros. recording from the ’60s, it has the most amazing vocal ending in bluegrass, I think, & I could definitely hear you guys doing it. You know what I mean: they make their voices almost sound like a pedal-steel guitar. (I haven’t been able to find it online, but you must know somebody who has access to it.) I also think for singers at your level it would be a challenge and a blast to try.
I also would like to know when your gospel album is going to be available again. Keep it up.
Karen and I heard you this month at the Palatka Bluegrass Festival and found your performance exceptional. We have been supporters of IIIrdTymeOut since 1999. The band had supper with us on that Saturday and your names came up more than once. Your mix of songs and beautiful vocals that we heard were outstanding. We are glad that some of your songs are often heard on XM61. Looking forward to seeing you all at upcoming events. Don and Karen Conway, Cocoa, Fl., Coker Creek,Tn.
Hi guys,
Who can I speak to about licensing a song? Please shoot me an e-mail at the above-listed address.
Thanks!
I just heard your song “Lord Lift Me Up” on the Smoking Bluegrass Radio program. http://smokingbluegrass.com/ It was fantastic and ministered to my heart. Really appreciate your God honoring music. Do you have that song on a CD?
