This weekend we made a trip to Johnson City, Tennessee for a seminar at ETSU and performances at the legendary Down Home and the ETSU V.A. Campus’ Memorial Theater for IHN Songfest. It was a great experience to finally be able to perform near old friends and colleagues!

The performance and seminar on Friday went exceptionally well! Plenty of students and faculty of the ETSU Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country Music program were in attendance and eager to listen and learn. We had a great time discussing life on the road as well as the “behind the scenes” aspects of the bluegrass life with all those who were in attendance, and many great questions were asked. It’s always great to help out eager, upcoming musicians whenever possible!

We had a great turnout for the Down Home Saturday night as well. We all really appreciate Mr. Ed Snodderly inviting us to play there, and had a great time! We hope to be back there again very soon to play for all the nice folks who came out to cheer us on!

We wrapped up this fantastic weekend by performing at the Memorial Theater on ETSU’s V.A. Campus for IHN Songfest. We were honored and privileged to be asked to perform alongside such great talent as Ed Snodderly and the ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band! All the bands that performed at Songfest did an excellent job. It was such a pleasure getting to catch up with old friends from the Pride Band and being able to listen to all them play again.

Johnson City, Tennessee is filled with nice, hospitable folks who love bluegrass music and want to treat you like family. We would especially like to thank Mr. George Bottcher for inviting us to Songfest and Mr. Roy Andrade for helping us be able to share our knowledge and experiences with the folks at ETSU. We hope to make another trip down this way real soon!

This weekend we will be doing a Christmas Show for our good friends at WGWG radio The Leatherwoods.So if you live close to Cleveland county NC come on by Falston Sat night for a Christmas evening with us.
