Darin & Brooke Aldridge
Darin and Brooke Aldridge (self titled) features this rising duo of beautiful young newlyweds singing and playing a rich combination of bluegrass and bluegrass gospel. Bluegrass Unlimited, says they "set a new standard of excellence in bluegrass gospel." This release on Crossroads Music was produced by Nashville veteran Jerry Salley. Audiences in every venue have been stunned by the conviction, commitment, and depth of their performances. Presenting songs of faith in God and love of each other, their communication with their audiences and each other is extraordinary.

Brooke’s voice is powerful and emotional. Darin’s harmony work is tightly matched and phrased as only family can do. If you think of the old Everly Brothers kind of duets except one voice is female and one is male, you can begin to understand what a fresh new sound they have. It is old but new; still bluegrass but also contemporary acoustic music with perfect instrumentation.
Darin Aldridge first played music in public when he was six years old. Learning to play banjo in order to join his first band, Straight and Narrow, he was encouraged to switch to mandolin when he showed an aptitude for it while teaching someone else to play. Since then, teaching has been one of his consistent activities. He now teaches in his studio as well as at the Gaston County School of the Arts in Gastonia. After work with several other bands, Darin joined the Country Gentlemen and toured with them for seven years until Charlie Waller’s sad passing in 2006. With the Country Gentlemen, he played at the White House. He has been nominated for the SPBGMA mandolin player of the year award four times.

We are very happy to announce that we are having our CD release show Friday, January 22nd at The Don Gibson Theatre in Shelby N.C.

Proceeds from this concert will go the The Cherryville Area Ministries.

Tickets are $18.00 for general admission. Show time is 8 :00pm. doors open at 7 :15. Tickets can be picked up at 7:00 at the box office.

Hi Darin and Brppke, Sorry we can’t come to Lincolnton tonight. I had cataract surgery yesterday morning-am doing fine, but need to stay in. Happy New Year to you Darin and Brook. We love the music samples from the new cd and look forward to hearing it live in Shelby. I just purchased our tickets to the show from your store and can hardly wait to see you guys. I need to talk with you about booking, because my pastor is really wanting your group to play for our church. He has already planned the service and named it “The Gospel According to Bluegrass”. I do hope that we get the opportunity to get you to perform for our congregation someday. It would truely be a blessing for all in attendance.
